VEDANTA limited donated Rs. 155 Crore out total donation of 160 crores to political parties via electoral bonds in FY23

Vedanta Limited, a subsidiary of UK based parent company Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL), is one of the world’s foremost natural resources conglomerates, with primary operations in zinc-lead-silver, iron ore, steel, copper, aluminium, power, nickel, and oil and gas

As Per Annual report of 2023 Vedanta Limited Total donation done by the company is of Rs 160 crores which Includes contributions through electoral bonds of Rs. 155 Crore(31 March 2022: Rs. 123 Crore)

In comparison to Corporate social responsibility (CSR) expenses company made CSR contribution of Rs. 112 Crore (31 March 2022: ` 37 Crore).

The electoral bond scheme was launched in 2018 as an alternative to cash donations made to political parties.

The State Bank of India (SBI) is the only authorised bank in India to issue and encash these bonds.

During FY23, Vedanta Limited has been declared as the preferred bidder for various mining licences, namely Bicholim iron ore block in Goa, Sijimali bauxite and Ghogharpalli coal blocks in Odisha, and Kelwar Dabri in Chhattisgarh.
